7H/SHU - QA & Feedback

Development, Round 1

Good afternoon, Setonians!

Attached you'll find our first round of templates, beautifully developed by Jason Head with a little help from everyone on the team. Feel free to view them on mobile and other devices to see how they would look on different sized screens. Also keep in mind that the content on these pages is representative of real content, but in a live site the final content would be specific to the system that serves it, being either the Content Management System, Big Tree, or the Blackbaud system.

HOMEPAGE:

We've made all of the updates that you've requested so far. Please take a look to make sure this reflects any desired changes.

ARTICLE:

http://setonhillpatterns.sevenheadsdesign.com/patterns/03-templates-26-alumni-article/03-templates-26-alumni-article.html

This template will be the one used for Forward magazine stories ("featured articles" in the navigation) and News for Alumni. It is meant to show a range of styles that would be used in an article, including images, blockquotes/callouts, a byline, and a call to action to make a donation. We also have the ability to include videos and photo galleries, although they are not represented here. This is the kind of page someone would see if they clicked on a headline in the E-Newsletter.

EVENTS & REUNIONS LANDING PAGE:

Events & Reunions Landing Page

This is the landing page for Events & Reunions, which would be served by the CMS.

EVENTS CALENDAR:

http://setonhillpatterns.sevenheadsdesign.com/patterns/03-templates-27-alumni-event-calendar/03-templates-27-alumni-event-calendar.html

This template would be for alumni events which are listed and managed in the CMS, as opposed to the Blackbaud system. It includes upcoming events plus an example of a high priority call to action to register for a single event, like Alumni Weekend/Reunion, etc.

MAKE A GIFT (FORM, NOT LANDING PAGE):

http://setonhillpatterns.sevenheadsdesign.com/patterns/03-templates-29-alumni-make-a-gift/03-templates-29-alumni-make-a-gift.html

This is a page demonstrating what forms can look like. We are going to be evaluating this pages styles to make sure they work in Blackbaud, and identify what may not be possible, but consider this a starting point for Blackbaud based templates.

FEEDBACK REQUESTED

We'd love the same feedback on these as previous. There's no need to answer all of these questions for each template, but if this helps you organize your feedback, feel free to use them:

  • Do you feel like each page structure has the right hierarchy of information?
  • Are the things that are important self evident?
  • Is the overall structure of each page clear?
  • Do you feel like the presentation of content will provide enough flexibility to support what you'd like to accomplish throughout the year?
  • Do you have questions or ideas about how these elements would be populated?
  • Can you see situations where this structure wouldn't meet your needs?
  • We'd like to get that feedback no later than 5pm EST on March 24th, but sooner than that is also fine. Have a great end of week, and a great weekend!

SHU: Feedback, Design

UI Design, Round 1

Homepage Design

At the following URL, you'll find our first iteration of the Seton Hill Alumni home page. Just a quick review of our goals:

  • Integrate the site into the new Seton Hill website styles and architecture
  • Feature content from the magazine
  • Feature upcoming events
  • Feature the Career Connections program
  • Feature popular annual events

Homepage Design

Take a look at this URL on any device (iPad, phone, etc.) to see how the design changes across different screen sizes.

We would love to get your feedback on this by 5pm EST on Thursday, March 10, and we'll have a chance to talk on on Wednesday before then. The kind of feedback we are looking for:

  • Do you feel like this structure has the right hierarchy of information?
  • Are the things that are important self evident?
  • Is the overall structure of the page clear?
  • Do you feel like the presentation of news items will provide enough flexibility to support what you'd like to accomplish throughout the year?
  • Do you have questions or ideas about how these elements would be populated?
  • Can you see situations where this structure wouldn't meet your needs?
